Gracie Olson is originally from Spanish Fort, Alabama, and earned a B.A. in Communicative Disorders from the University of Alabama. She is pursuing her Doctor of Audiology degree at the University of South Alabama and joined the Electric & Acoustic Hearing Lab as a graduate research assistant in fall 2026. Her research interests include cochlear implants, pediatric audiology, and patient outcomes. She is particularly interested in pediatric cochlear implantation, including auditory neuroplasticity and critical periods, etiology-specific outcomes, language development beyond speech perception, and long-term psychosocial and quality-of-life outcomes.
